Things you should know
DrugBank Intelligence MCP integrations provide access to DrugBank's drug data directly within AI assistant platforms. Access requires a paid DrugBank OS account, which is authenticated via a secure connection login flow.
Account Access
This section describes how we handle data in the context of those integrations.
When you use a DrugBank Intelligence MCP integration, we collect only the minimum identifiers necessary to operate the service:

Platform user identifier: a user ID provided by the AI platform associated with your account on that platform

Email address: if made available through the authentication flow
We do not collect the content of your conversations, the queries you submit, or any health or clinical information you may reference in your prompts.
Why we collect it
We collect the above identifiers solely for the following operational purposes:

Usage tracking and cost management: to monitor API request volume attributable to individual users or teams for billing, rate limiting, and service sustainability purposes

Abuse prevention: to identify and respond to unusual or unauthorized usage patterns
Who we share it with
This data is not sold or rented to any third party. It may be shared with our existing sub-processors where necessary to support the operational purposes described above, under the same confidentiality obligations that apply to all DrugBank sub-processors.
Retention
Identifiers collected through MCP integrations are retained only as long as necessary for the operational purposes described above, after which they are deleted or de-identified in accordance with our standard data retention practices.
Your controls
You may request deletion of your data associated with any MCP integration by contacting us at privacy@drugbank.com. Disconnecting or uninstalling a DrugBank Intelligence MCP integration will terminate ongoing data collection.
DrugBank ChatGPT MCP App
The DrugBank ChatGPT MCP App is available through the OpenAI ChatGPT Apps Directory. When using this integration, the platform user identifier referenced above is an OpenAI-issued user ID associated with your ChatGPT account. All data handling practices described in the DrugBank Intelligence MCP section above apply to this integration.
DrugBank Claude MCP Connector
The DrugBank Claude MCP Connector is available through Anthropic's Claude platform. When using this integration, the platform user identifier referenced above is an Anthropic-issued user ID associated with your Claude account. All data handling practices described in the DrugBank Intelligence MCP section above apply to this integration.
